WMU MBA helped me to understand the nuances of the real business world in which I live & work every day. Especially, the financial aspects were understood and applied in my existing work. It happened so that immediately after completion of course in Oct 2002, I was transferred to China for two years with a responsibility to administer a profit centre and the MBA training came in very handy. Even my approach to everyday business situations was more professional and hence, I was able to handle the increased work load easily.

 I have been working in Kaybee Group, Singapore since May 1996. My present designation in General Manager and I am in charge of F&B division of the group. I look after the private label marketing of our range of products.

Many of the professors have asked us on what motivated us to take up this MBA program. As expected, most of us hoped that it would help us in our careers. But there is one response that I find particularly refreshing – ‘no good reason’ for which the kind professor responded that we do not need to have a good reason to study.

Studying is about experiencing and knowledge gathering. I would like to add that it also builds confidence and shapes character.

We are a very diverse group – different industry, country, discipline and talents. The fun and laughter, candid sharing of ideas and stories, and not forgetting the helpfulness of each member, have made this course a truly enjoyable learning experience.

There are many MBA programs offered in Singapore, but it wasn’t at all a difficult decision to enroll for the Western Michigan University MBA. I chose WMU for 2 simple reasons: firstly, for the international standing and professional recognition of the WMU MBA and secondly, for the quality and strength of the faculty staff. Personally, I have learnt a lot from the MBA and professionally, the MBA has helped me in my career move into management consulting. This program is more than just another paper chase. The courses taught are practical and very applicable professionally.
