TOEFL is an American test designed to evaluate the English proficiency of students whose native language is not English. There are four parts: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. TOEFL scores are required by almost all Colleges and Universities across the U.S. and Canada. In many countries, including Singapore, TOEFL is a computer-based test.
Should you prepare for TOEFL?
Preparation courses generally result in a higher TOEFL score. The TOEFL is now computer-based, which means that the answer you give determines the difficulty of the next question. You will receive more credits for correctly answering more difficult questions. Preparing for the TOEFL can help ensure that your English language skills are finely honed for the test.
Remember: Beginning to study just before the test is NOT likely to have much effect on your performance!
Who conducts the TOEFL Preparatory Course?
The Center for American Education (CAE) conducts the course and offers: • Qualified instructors who are experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated • Small class size for better interaction between students and instructors • Manageable time schedule for students and busy working adults
