"My Ph.D. was in 18th - Century British Fiction, with a heavy concentration on the novels of Daniel Defoe, Samuel Richardson, and Henry Fielding. I came to Singapore in 1994, where I was Lecturer and then Assistant Professor of Literature at the National Institute of Education (N.T.U.). In August 2003, I moved to the Center for American Education where I currently teach courses in Children's Literature, American and World Literature and English Composition; administratively, I am the dean of the undergraduate program and serve as student advisor.
