About The University
Broward College, previously known as Broward Community College, was established in 1959 by the Florida Legislature to create a broad public community system. Broward College is a member institution of the Florida College System.
It is a U.S. college located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and it is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
About the Program
In order to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in the States, you generally spend four years of studies in a college or university (”College” and “University” are used interchangeably). Regardless of the University you go to, or the major you pursue, the first two years of studies are typically the same general education classes in which students choose from a wide variety of courses. The Broward College Advanced Diploma program offered through the Center for American Education gives students an option to complete their general education classes in Singapore and then transfer to the U.S. for the third and fourth year of the bachelor’s degree.
Key Points about the Program
• Two year Advanced Diploma in General Education in partnership with Broward College.
• All classes are in English and occur face-to-face at the CAE campus in the Bestway Building, with student-teacher ratios of 1:10.
• Student-centered curriculum integrates inquiry-based learning, reflective thinking and problem solving.
• Focus is on learning and applying knowledge to “real world” situations in a global world.
• Fully taught by highly qualified western-trained faculty (all have master’s or doctorate degrees) in Singapore.
• Credits transferable to U.S., Australia, Canada, UK, etc, universities to complete the bachelor’s degree in their choice of specialization.
• Diverse student body from countries such as Singapore, U.S., Switzerland, France, Britain, China, Japan, Korea & Indonesia.
• Overall lower tuition & living costs compared to studying in U.S.
